MANGALORE: The Art of Living (AOL) is organizing Jnanappana - 2013, a mega cultural event n the presence of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the AOL International Centre at Udayapura on Kanakapura Road in Bangalore on August 15. Over 1,00,000 enthusiastic performers will chant Jnanappana at the AOL International Centre. Cultural performances of Kerala such as panjavadhyam, thiruvathirakali, kalaripayattu and mohiniattam will form some of the other highlights of this unique event.

Jnanappana is a philosophical poem authored by Bhaktakavi Poonthanam, in which the essence of Vedanta is expressed in simple Malayalam. It was sung in every household during pre-independence years to get freedom from ignorance and to spread the light of knowledge and happiness around the world. During his visit to Kerala early this year, Sri Sri had highlighted the significance of this ancient and highly-revered poem, and the need to popularize it among the masses.
